But when a bulb pops, you’re suddenly staring at two options: pay a premium for the fancy OEM brand or go with a generic filament. Here’s the secret: the physics of heat don’t care about the logo on the box. Heat is heat. What actually matters are the specs. How these things actually work Inside that quartz tube is a tungsten filament. We pack it with halogen gas for a reason—it stops the tungsten from evaporating and gunking up the glass. That keeps the tube clear so the heat actually gets to the shoe. In our world, we need high intensity. We want that heat to punch through the material fast. If it’s too slow, the glue doesn’t set; if it’s too aggressive, you scorch the surface. It’s a delicate balance. Picking the right replacement Don’t wing this part.
